Starlight Festival, Big Bear

WALL-E and R2-D2 appeared at the Astronomy Outreach Network's first annual Starlight Festival at the Northwoods Resort in Big Bear, CA on May 24-25, 2014. Mike spoke at four stage presentations, while the family drove the robots around the event grounds for photos and on-camera interviews.

 

Mike was interviewed on camera by Andre Bormanis, a writer, producer and science advisor who has worked on Star Trek and Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey.

Our robots met Rad the Robot, built by Garner Holt Productions, which makes animatronics for theme parks like Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm.
